Love Like Jesus

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.

1 John 4:15-19

Jesus loved us first by being the ultimate sacrifice for our sins on the cross. It was the greatest act of love humanity has ever seen. He rose again after 3 days to give us resurrection power through the Holy Spirit. Now, through the Holy Spirit we have full access to the Father and His love. We can follow the steps of Jesus as He leads us to love God, ourselves, and one another like the One who perfected love and made us complete. There is no fear in God’s perfect love. Therefore, walk in the confidence of this perfect love, knowing that you were created for love, by love, and to love others like Jesus.
