Wonderfully Made

You have searched me, Lord , and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord , know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.

Psalms 139:1-18

God knows everything about you. He knows when you sit, when you rise, when you feel discouraged, or angry. He knows your deepest desires. He knows your greatest weaknesses. He knows you more than anybody else.

Before the creation of the universe, God knew you. He called you by name, He gave you purpose. He spoke your future into existence. He saw all of your sin, failures, mistakes and still called you worthy.

He has always cared about the little details of your life. He knows your dreams and aspirations. He knows how you look at yourself. He sees how you perceive others.

Your sin if not too much for Him. You can’t hide it from Him. He already knew all about it when He sent His Son into the world to die for your sins so that you wouldn’t have to face the penalty of death but live a life of abundant grace.

No sin is too great or too dark for Him. He has seen your unformed body. He knit you together in your mother’s womb. He has seen your brokenness. He has seen your messy moments in life. Don’t try to hide. It is all revealed to Him. He has seen it all and He still loves you as His precious daughter.

No matter where you run or hide, He will always chase after you. He will always be near to you. His love is unconditional. It is steadfast and abounding in mercy.

He will be your Shepherd. He will guide you through every valley. He will lead you to green pastures. He will take you to the place of rest so that you can abide in His love. There is no fear, anxiety, worry, stress or insecurity in His love. There is only peace, love, joy, and healing.

You were made in the secret place. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. There is no one like you. You are His beloved.
