Eternally Captivated: How To Fall In Love With Jesus

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9

He calls me His beloved. We are married. We are dwelling as one in the spirit, just as Man left His Father to be one with His bride, so is Jesus for me.

Even though I remember the world and the pleasures that come from loving another, God pours His love over me. Smothering anything I could've dreamt of with gifts that are irreplaceable.

Even though I walk down the aisle of the shadow of death, He has clothed me in a gown fit for a bride. He stares me down from the altar, beckoning me to come closer.

Every step is painful, as I leave my loved ones behind for true Life.

True Love.

Yet He sustains me, His music is a comfort to my soul. His voice guides me to say “I do” before I even realize the greatness of it all. Even though my thoughts wander, and my eyes look at the desires around me, just speaking His name leaves a wonderful taste in my mouth that brings me back to His feet.

You are mine, and I am Yours.

No longer shall I wander, for You have made a place for me. I can not be filled by the love of another, so I chase You down because You fill me. My cup overflows as You keep pouring into me, and now I pour into others. But it doesn't matter, as long as You let me drink from Your cup.

Can I stay here forever? I am not tied to another, so I love You without restraint. My life is calm, my heart is beating to the same rhythm as Yours. Rose-colored lenses are far from me. Yes, I may seem to go without love, but You love me. I'd rather have You by my side, than have a hundred men fall at my feet.

I am captivated.

You bring to me gifts I didn't ask for. Now I love You greater because You show me in time what it means to love and be loved by You.

Beloved, lean on Him and He will lead you to green pastures even in the darkest of valleys. This is for you! You are His beloved! Look to Him and He will lead you in love.
