Overcoming the Fear of Rejection Through the Power of the Holy Spirit

Introduction

Have been you been feeling rejected lately?

In this blog, I will share how rejection is used by the enemy to derail you from walking in the fullness of who you are in Christ Jesus.

Rejection steals your identity

The enemy will use the rejection in your life to cause you to experience a deep sense of unworthiness. He will tell you that you are unlovable and will never get to enter into a faithful relationship with a man of God. He will tell you that your family never cared about you. He will tell you that your friendships aren’t genuine. The devil will make you feel unworthy of being loved by anyone, especially God.

Although someone may say untrue things about you, that does not change who you are. Your identity is not based on what you do or how you are. It is solely on the character, sacrifice and resurrection of Christ.

Rejection in relationships

If you have experienced rejection throughout your life, in particular from men, I want you to know that their opinion of you does not dictate who you are. If a man doesn’t see you, that doesn’t mean you are not worthy pursuing. It simply means that there is another that the Lord has crafted to unique fit your wants and needs. There will be a man who will absolutely adore you from the beginning and pursue you with intention. He will be clear with His actions and words to let you know that He intends on pursing you.

Relationships with sisters in Christ can also bring loneliness and isolation when you feel like community is out of reach. God never created you to do life alone. He wanted you to have a strong community of God-fearing women who call you higher and bring you closer to Christ. If you are feeling rejected by women in your life or circles of friends, I encourage you to be brave and get to know someone in your church or go to a small group. Be intentional with your pursuit of friendship and pray that the Lord brings you the right friends.

Rejection in family may be one of the most difficult circumstances to navigate. You are not an orphan. If your family has rejected you in any way, the Lord has already adopted you into His family as a righteous daughter. Abba is your Heavenly Father that doesn’t let you walk alone. He cares for you as His own and nurtures you in safety. You don’t have to fear of being alone because you have a spiritual family and an inheritance that has been freely given through Jesus.

Cycles of rejection

The enemy wants you to sit with the spirit of rejection and be trapped in cycles of unworthiness. He wants you to believe that you will always be rejected and nobody will ever love you. But can I tel you that those are LIES from the pit of hell!

You have the authority in Jesus Christ to demolish every pretense, argument, and weapon formed against you. You don’t have to fear. You can rebuke, renounce, reject, and dismantle every lie and word curse spoken over you and your bloodline. You are not powerless to the lies of the enemy. You can say no to sin and habitual cycles of unbelief. You are not a victim. You are a warrior who lives in victory by the power of the Holy Spirit. Through Him, you can do all things fearlessly without striving. God is your greatest ally who won’t let you fall. So get up! Don’t let the enemy torment your mind with lies. Remind him of who you are and make him go!

You are not rejected, but chosen by God

God wants you to know you are not alone. He has seen your suffering. He has been there through every tear. He has held your hand in every moment of despair. He has felt the pain of your broken heart on the cross. He took every burden that you’ve experienced throughout your entire life, nailed it to the cross and buried it with your old self.

Beloved, can I encourage you with some truth and speak identity over you?🫶🏽

You are no longer her! You are a new creation in Christ. You have been blood bought by the King of Kings who has redeemed you. God has called you by name.
