Draw Near to God

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
Jeremiah 31:3
In the blog, you will discover how simple it is to draw near to God’s everlasting love and unfailing kindness. I will share practical tips on how to hear from the Lord prophetically. I encourage you to share what you’ve learned with someone you know by sharing this blog with the link above. God bless you!
Seek the Lord and He will be found
God has loved you before creation. You can draw near to God because He drew near to you first as it says in the Word, “We love because He first loved,” which reminds us of the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross when He gave up His life for ours (1 John 4:19). Jesus tore the veil between us and God so that we may have a relationship with God and no longer be separated but live in eternity with Him. Now, we have received the privilege of drawing near to the Father.
How can you find God? Through His word, His people, His voice, His creation, and a myriad of other ways. If you seek the Lord through His word, He will be found. The Lord is near to those who call on Him. He is always listening, willing to answer you. He is not distant from you. His love is pursuing you every day, even if you don’t feel it. If you seek Him with all of your heart, you will find everything that your heart desires. God asks that we come to Him with wholehearted devotion.
He is a safe person to draw near to
God will never force you to love Him. The Holy Spirit will always guide you to the Lord is but never manipulate, threaten or coerce you to love God. That is the opposite of God’s heart. The Lord wants you to return to Him if you are far. If you have walked away from Jesus and can’t find your way back, I want you to know that I was there and God never let go of me. I truly believe with all of my heart that God is not waiting to punish you. He is not full of rage when He thinks of you. God is the Father of compassion and His love for you never fails. He gave it all up on the cross so that you could enter into a covenant of love with God through faith in Jesus Christ. He will pour out His love on you and will cover you with His grace.
God will make you feel safe when you draw near to Him. He is a safe place to rest your head from the weariness of life. He is a safe refuge in which we can dwell and become undone by His merciful kindness.
His character is trustworthy
You can trust in God. His unfailing kindness draws to us so that we may experience what it feels like to be his precious child who is set apart. He loves to pour out His favor towards us. His compassion keeps us with Him and holds us close to Him like a warm hug of protection so that we never walk in fear or anxiety. His everlasting love makes us feel secure. He is a trustworthy God.
He cares for you
God cares for you more than you could ever possibly imagine. Before He created the universe, He thought of you. You were on His mind. He couldn’t wait to spend time with you. He desired to give you everything that you need and more. His word says that He will do exceedingly abundantly more than you could ever dream or imagine. If He created all things with intentional design, how much more would He care for you?
When you draw near, you receive…
When you draw near to God, you will discover that everything you would ever want or need is in Jesus. You will find the joy of your salvation. You will hope not in your circumstances but in the love of Jesus. You will find deep healing from your core wounds that will make you whole. Jesus will make everything right. He already gave everything to us when He laid down His life for the world. When you continue to deepen your relationship with Jesus, you discover a well of blessings, abundance, opportunities, healing, and more.
He gives us confidence and freedom
Draw near to God with a sincere heart and full assurance that faith brings (Hebrews 10:22). We can hold gratitude in our hearts and be confident as we walk on this path of faith because the Lord has given us redemption through His blood. Therefore, you can approach the throne room of God with confidence and walk in the freedom of God’s love, mercy, grace, and power to accomplish His will. All that we do reflects what He has already done for us. Now, we can take hold of this treasure in Christ and use it not for our own selfish gain but to build God’s kingdom and glorify His name.
We are purified by His love
When we draw near to God, we become white as snow (Isaiah 1:18). We are purified by the blood of Jesus and cleansed from our sins. We no longer have to live in sin, shame, guilt, or condemnation. God’s love covers a multitude of sins. His love is like water that washes us clean. We don’t stay the same when we enter into his presence. We are transformed into the image of Christ every moment we choose to allow the Holy Spirit to remove impurities, patterns, mindsets, and heal our hearts.
