3 Reasons You Should Seek A Christ-Centered Community

'Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. '

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Community in the body of Christ is a beautiful thing. Here are 3 reasons why you should surround yourself with a Christ-centered community.

Hold each other accountable.

The body of Christ was never meant to condemn but call you higher. Community helps you to walk in holiness. If one is sinning, another can speak truth to that person in love and gently guide the person back to Jesus. The church should not only share the truth but walk it out through actions in love. Humility is an important part of helping one another bear the fruit of the Spirit. Without the fruit, a community is not alive in Christ and we must help one another walk in the fullness of His love.

Support one another through challenges.

You should always feel safe with believers whom you are surrounded with. They should be a refuge for you to run to in times of trouble. Surround yourself with people who truly care about your well-being and are there for you, even when life is falling apart. When someone is struggling, the body of Christ should be there to support financially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, or mentally.

Become like Jesus.

Our aim in life is to become more like Jesus. When we lose sight of this, we forget that we are not from this world but were created for heaven. That is our true home and we are just passing by this earth on our way to eternal life with Christ.

Community should never encourage you to choose sinful behavior or habits but always point you back to Jesus. As we grow in fellowship with one another, we begin to see the fruit of becoming more patient, humble, and walking in His footsteps.

My love note for you.

You want to find a community that will strengthen, empower, and inspire you to become like Jesus. If you are not being challenged, encouraged, and lovingly rebuked by your community, you may want to consider going to another space that is helping you grow and mature into the image of Christ. Seek places where you can be free and brought closer to who God created you to be.
